ROLLS ROYCE VESPYRE
ROLLS ROYCE VESPYRE
AUTOMOTIVE concept
Pronounced ‘Vespeer’ evoking a powerful, restless, and refined spirit.
A two-seat sporting car, the Vespyre is conceived as a respite of modern luxury. Powered by a hybrid V8, its bold form declares solidity and presence, while a sweeping gesture carries seamlessly from the monolithic front through to a distinctly tapered, very English rear. Beveled doors and boot edges lend refinement, guiding the eye fluidly across the body.
The Vespyre’s character draws from the storied Silver Shadow lineage of the 1970s and ’80s—its radiused detailing and faceted surfacing recalling that era’s timeless balance—while subtle Art Deco references appear in its single-piece forged wheels with signature self-leveling centers. Together, these elements create a design that is both historic and forward-looking, a new modernity born of heritage and innovation.
Inside, a hand-stitched leather cocoons the passengers, accented by a continuous ribbon of wood framed with dimensional, bolstered detailing. From the dash, a polished metal wing motif—an homage to the Spirit of Ecstasy—extends into the door panels, activating a powered multipoint hinge mechanism. Classic Rolls-Royce polished metal vents and switchgear anchor the cabin in tradition, while their execution feels unmistakably contemporary.
The Vespyre, in sum, is timeless, handsome, and uncompromising: a distilled statement of power, refinement, a unique expression that could only be Rolls Royce.
“With the Vespyre I created a 2 seater with a sporty character that’s smaller, less formal, more playful. This is a car for a weekend escape, a drive along the water, appreciating the adventure of the journey and exploring the landscape in luxurious comfort.”- Matt Murphy
